Community Meeting at the Seva Ashram

On Wednesday June 2nd we held our monthly temple meeting at our Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Seva Ashram. This meeting was particularly wonderful since we saw pictures and videos of the devotees preaching and collecting in our Food Booth at the Further Festival in Northern California.

Krishna Madhuri Didi gave an enthusiastic report about it — how the devotees helped so much and everybody worked day and night for this project.

After that Sripad Hasyapriya Prabhu spoke of the development project for the Seva Ashram, the legal requirements, and how for the first step we need to collect 50,000 dollars. Which with everybody's help we pray to collect by Sri Radhastami. He read an outline for the project "This beautiful land by Sri Guru’s grace, has manifested as Sri Gupta Govardhan and its extending to us a shelter from where we can all safely and happily go on in our service life. We shall try to maintain it as the home of Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga, where Srila Gurudev so graciously placed his beautiful lotus feet and affectionately stayed here with us for the pleasure of the devotees. So we must protect that with whatever capacity we have."

After that he announced the building of the Puspa Samadhi of Srila Gurudev which brought much joy to all the devotees there. He explained how it would have a verandah and a path for parikrama. From where the Samadhi will stand you can see the temple, Srila Gurudevs house, and all the property.

Then Kamal Krishna Prabhu spoke of the collecting tour that Ramachandra Prabhu, Vidura Krishna Prabhu, Ratan Krishna Prabhu and himself were taking to preach and collect for the Ashram. He spoke of distributing the mercy and the beauty of what we have got at the Ashram. And how on their way they would stop at different devotees houses to have some programs and sankirtan. Then he read Srila B. N. Acharyya Maharajs’ Pranam Mantra and filled everybody's heart with hope and remembrance of Srila Gurudevs beautiful poetry and mood.

Thus these meetings are aimed to be service discussions, so we can accommodate everybody in our community in the service of Their Lordships. So naturally, according to our capacity, we are all given some service to maintain our spiritual life. We have heard from our affectionate guardians again and again how service is our life.

Now that our devotees have gone for this preaching tour so many service opportunities have come, we would like to invite our friends and family to participate in the different service activities that are going on at our Seva Ashram for the satisfaction of Sri Guru and Sri Gauranga!
