Remembering Srila Gurudev

Dear Devotees and friends,

With a saddened heart I write these words in memory of our beloved Srila Gurudev. His disappearance from our vision is heartbreaking and really indigestible but as I do recall my memories of him a shift happens, my heart lightens and begins to fill up with gratitude and unbelievably, happiness, because all of my memories of him are happy ones.

He gave me shelter and instruction, all in his great affectionate way. He tolerated my many shortcomings and my lack of any devotional capacity and gave me encouragement and real direction to my life. How I came to have such a connection with such a personality is inconceivable.

I am especially feeling grateful for our beautiful Soquel Seva Ashram that he himself chose. When he first entered the property he told us he felt so much peace in his heart if it’s at all possible please buy this property, without even getting out of the car! He visited here on many, many occasions and stayed here longer than any other Math outside of India. He revealed it to be Gupta Govardhan and we are honored to serve him through this beautiful Seva Ashram.

I offer my obeisances to all of the followers of our beloved Srila Gurudev, you are one of his great gifts he left behind. I pray to all of you that you please forgive my offense and that you give me your blessing that I may be able to follow without wasting any more time and not stray.

To him I pray to always follow honestly his instructions, serve and honor his mission, his devotees and his Deities, especially Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Gandharvika Giridhari Jiu. May he bless me to be able to do so.
