In honor of the Auspicious Appearance of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, Kumkum Didi arranged for a Harinam Sankirttan procession to the original site of the Guardian of Devotion Press.
Sripad Sarvabhavana Prabhu and Vidyasundar Prabhu led the chanting.
The party started at the San Jose Seva Ashram and walked about ten blocks to the former 13th Street temple. It was a beautiful afternoon to walk across town together.
Sripad Bhakti Sudhir Goswami Maharaj established that temple in the 1980's in order to spread the divine glories of Srila Sridhar Maharaj in the West.
He published Srila Guru Maharaj's lectures in the form of beautiful books which continue to give fresh light and inspiration to everyone who reads them.
Those books include :
Search for Sri Krishna: Reality the Beautiful
Loving Search for the Lost Servant
Sri Guru and His Grace
Golden Volcano of Divine Love.
and Subjective Evolution of Conciousness
Srila Gurudev has referred to San Jose as the labor room of his mother because this is the place that Srila Guru Maharaj's conception was revealed in the form of these books.
When the party arrived at the former 13th Street temple, Sripad Sarvabhavana Prabhu told some stories about how the books came to be printed. In the garage of the temple there was a large printing press. He explained how that was acquired and expressed his own gratitude and deep appreciation for the books of Srila Sridhar Maharaj and Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj.
The devotees paid their respects from across the street.
Then they crossed the street for a photo.
The whole group posed for this shot in front of the garage where the printing press had been.
A view of the former 13th Street temple building today.
